DG535 Tech Support

If you are experiencing trouble with your DG535 you can either send your instrument back to SRS for service, or you can try and fix the problem yourself. If you wish to send the instrument back now click here.

If you wish to try and fix the problem yourself, the following troubleshooting guide may help you.

Troubleshooting Guide

Symptom 1 — Instrument is unresponsive to front-panel button presses

Try a power-up reset. Turn the power off, then while holding the BSP key down, turn the power back on. After two seconds release the BSP key. If this doesn't correct the problem the instrument will need to come back to SRS for service. Click here to get an RMA number.

Symptom 2 — There is no signal at one of the channel outputs

Most likely, the output stage transistor is damaged and needs replacing. If your instrument is old, it may have an MRF965 transistor at the output. If it is new, it will have a small assembly in a socket instead of the MRF965. In either case, you will need to replace either the MRF965 or the assembly with a new assembly (part number 534 ASSY).

Symptom 3 — Front panel pulse outputs look distorted

When AB or CD output is set to drive 50 Ω load, the complementary output (-AB or -CD) must be also terminated to 50 Ω. Otherwise, the output signal will be distorted.
